About Me

Dr. Amjad Shamim is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Management & Humanities Department and Core Researcher at the Institute of Self-Sustainable Building, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. He earned his Ph.D in Management (Value Co-Creation and Service Marketing) from UTP Malaysia in 2016. Earlier he holds MS and MBA degrees in Marketing.
He is Principal Investigator (PI) for 7 research grants on value co-creation and service thinking practices that he has secured in three years (2017 – 2020) time from national and international funding bodies. Two projects have successfully completed while 3 projects on in the process. In addition, he is currently working on 4 other grants as a member.
Dr. Amjad currently supervising 7 Ph.D. students and 1 M.Phil student as the Main Supervisor, and 3 Ph.D students as Co-Supervisor.
He frequently conducts training programs both nationally and internationally in the areas of value co-creation, service thinking for practice, delivering service excellence, structural equation modeling, and measurement scale design among others.

He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Journal of Islamic Marketing, and review board on the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing & Logistics, Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research among others. He also serves the International Institute of Marketing Professional (IIMP® Canada) as Co-Chair, Conferences and Awards and MBT Global as a Consultant.

Dr. Amjad was awarded Liam Glyn Research Award from American Marketing Association – Special Service Interest Group in 2019 and Outstanding Reviewer Award from Elsevier 2018. He has published his work in various reputable international journals such as International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Statistical Computation & Simulation, Journal of Islamic Marketing, Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economics, IEEE Access, Environmental Science & Pollution Research, International Journal of Applied Management Science among others.
